Permanent Service Projects of Lions Club Society, Modasa & Lions Family
Special Project: Lions Kidney Dialysis Centre, Modasa
The Lions Kidney Dialysis Centre, Modasa was established and operated for a period of five years, during which dialysis services were provided to economically weaker patients suffering from kidney failure. Over this period, a minimum of 5,000 dialysis sessions were successfully conducted.
At that time, there was no dialysis centre within a 100 km radius of Modasa, causing severe hardship for patients. Dialysis treatment was extremely expensive; however, our centre provided dialysis services at a nominal cost of only ₹350 per session.
As an incentive, patients who attended dialysis three times a week on a regular basis were provided the fourth dialysis session free of cost. For patients who had no financial means at all, dialysis services were provided completely free, and in many cases, transportation expenses were also arranged by the institution.
